Today I had every intention of starting this damn inventory but not only am I dealing with my Nanie's material items as well as my own, but many of my close friends are dealing with similar situations i.e. a family member is sick and wanting to downsize or is getting ready to pass away. So we are all trying to do this together. Sort of like a declutter/grieving support group, if you will. So far my three friends whose names all start with "M" have all managed to sell one or more of their own items (well, I sold them). While I have sold none of mine.
I did list one of our balance beams on craigslist and have received two replies via email both of which seem fake but I think there is a 50/50 chance that one of them might be legit. I sure hope so! That beam is heavy and in the way and I would much rather have $1,000.00 than that beam in my life.
We decided (me and the 3Ms) that the best plan of attack would be to use the back half of the gym to store/sell the items we are trying to get rid of . . . Literally we have already filled up almost 2,000 square feet and one of the M's husband is bringing another trailer load full tomorrow. We may run out of gym/storage space if we don't get these items sold fast enough.
Also, I am going to install a thermometer of sorts to this blog to keep track of how much is actually sold over the course of this project. For right now I will just keep a running tally in each blog post. Right now the amount I have made from my items is this . . .
$0
Not a good way to start Wednesday . . .I knew I should've done that inventory!
But do I at least get points for posting the beam on craigslist? I thought about trying ebay but when I went to list it, Ebay wanted to charge quite a bit of money in order for me to have a reserve price. What about you all out there? Do any of you have a preference between ebay and craigslist?
Hopefully tomorrow will be more fruitful as far as the selling/inventory goes!
